Rongotai College Represented at NZQA Top Scholar Ceremony - News - Rongotai College

Rongotai College was recently represented at NZQA's Top Scholar Awards Ceremony held at Parliament by 2024 Year 13 student Ayman Zewada, his proud family and Mr Carter. The ceremony acknowledges the top achieving students in each New Zealand Scholarship subject and the top 12 students overall. Ayman was acknowledged as the top student in NZ Scholarship Spanish

Over his 5 years at Rongotai College, Ayman showed himself to be a dedicated, hard-working student was was able to think critically. In addition to his Outstanding Scholarship in Spanish, Ayman also gained NZ Scholarships in English and Media Studies. To cap off his outstanding year in 2024, Ayman gained University passes in Statistics and in Psychology from papers he studied at Victoria University of Wellington. When asked by Jann Marshall (NZQA's Deputy Chief Executive, Assessment) what he put his success down to, Ayman responded "It was the excellent teaching I received at Rongotai College". He noted that he had never studied or spoken Spanish until being introduced to it in the Year 9 Term 1 carousel, and had studied it ever since.

This year, Ayman is continuing to study Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington, hoping to become a Clinical Psychologist in the future.

It was great to see Rongotai represented at this wonderful occasion.
