Academic Excellence

Rongotai College is committed to providing a learning environment that allows our young men to be the best that they can be, and to ‘Strive for Excellence’.

Our teaching programmes have a focus on the academic outcomes for each student; we employ great teaching and support staff, have specialised learning environments, and provide a well-rounded curriculum and co-curricular programmes that are designed to prepare our young men for the future.

As a consequence of these factors, we are proud of the achievement of our students in NCEA. Rongotai students achieve significantly above the average for boys in New Zealand, above the average for boys in the Equity Index Ban band.

Acknowledging Achievement

The College recognises academic achievement with awards in Assemblies, Honours Awards for Excellence and subject and overall awards at our annual Prize givimng. Competition for the award of the Dux of the College is fierce and inspires our top students to ‘Strive for Excellence’.
