SPORTS UPDATE – Week Ending 28 May

A famous quote in sport is ‘the harder you train, the luckier you get’. You spend more time training than you do playing matches so turn up to trainings with a growth mindset and get purpose from your sessions – you will be rewarded in the back end of the season.

Over the past week RC attended two swimming meets, the Individual Championships at the Huia Pools and the Quad at Freyberg Pool.

Some great performances by all our swimmers highlighted by 3 Golds for SAM BROWN and 2 Gold for TOM WADDINGTON at the individuals and a 3rd placing at the Quad – great work boys!   Sam Brown also broke the freestyle record at the Quad.  A record that has stood since 1995.    Well done too to SAM JONES who swam four PBs.

The Senior A team continue their roller coaster season with a tough 6-0 loss to HIBS. Tonight they take on Wellington College in another tough one – good luck boys!

The Junior A’s went down 50-71 against a strong St Pats Town team on Tuesday, next week they take on Paraparaumu College in their first home game of the season.
