A famous quote in sport is ‘the harder you train, the luckier you get’. You spend more time training than you do playing matches so turn up to trainings with a growth mindset and get purpose from your sessions – you will be rewarded in the back end of the season.
Swimming
Over the past week RC attended two swimming meets, the Individual Championships at the Huia Pools and the Quad at Freyberg Pool.
Some great performances by all our swimmers highlighted by 3 Golds for SAM BROWN and 2 Gold for TOM WADDINGTON at the individuals and a 3rd placing at the Quad – great work boys! Sam Brown also broke the freestyle record at the Quad. A record that has stood since 1995. Well done too to SAM JONES who swam four PBs.
Badminton
The Senior A team continue their roller coaster season with a tough 6-0 loss to HIBS. Tonight they take on Wellington College in another tough one – good luck boys!
Basketball
The Junior A’s went down 50-71 against a strong St Pats Town team on Tuesday, next week they take on Paraparaumu College in their first home game of the season.
The Senior A’s also went down to Town with a 48-70 loss. Tonight they take on St Pats Silverstream at the ASB at 7.30pm – get down and support the brothers!
Football
The 1st XI got their first win of the season with a 2-0 win over Kapiti College, tomorrow they take on Tawa College at Tawa at 1pm. The next couple of games will be critical for them to earn a place in the Premier Youth grade this season – get stuck in lads!
Rugby
The 1st XV come off the bye after having a great preparation camp. Tomorrow they take Porirua College away at 1pm.
Hockey
The 1st XI got their first win of the season taking on Tawa College. Suneel Patel made it 2 from 2 games after slotting a forehand into the bottom corner to secure the 1-0 win.
