The Big Band and Senior Jazz Combo participated in the NZ Youth Jazz Competition at the National Jazz Festival in Tauranga over Easter.  Both groups gained Silver Awards and also got to play at the Tauranga Jazz Festival with the internationally-acclaimed NZ Army Band (led by Bandmaster and Rongotai College Old Boy, Staff Sergeant David Fiu).
