WELCOME

E nga mana, e nga waka, e nga reo, e nga karangarangatanga o te motu tena koutou

Greetings and welcome to our school website.

Rongotai College is a state secondary school for boys located in Wellington, New Zealand. Founded in 1928, our school is enriched by a proud heritage. We are, nonetheless, forward-looking and progressive in our task of educating young men to meet the challenges of today. Boys come to us from all over Wellington, and from many countries overseas.

With a roll of 670, we are small enough to know each boy well, and recognise his individual character and needs, but large enough to offer an extensive curriculum that meets the academic and vocational needs of individual students, while also offering an impressive co-curricular programme.

Our students love this school, and are proud to be ‘Rongotai Men’. You will find a tremendous school spirit and sense of brotherhood. The significant events of the school year such as the ‘McEvedy Shield’ inter-school athletics event and the Senior Prizegiving are inspirational. The pride shown in their school and the vitality of the boys shine through.

We are clear about our primary task - it is to identify and develop the potential of every boy, so they are able to be the best that they can be. The main aim of this website is to introduce the many ways we help our students to realise their potential, so they leave us as confident, self-motivated and well-rounded young men ready to find their place in the world.

Please contact me if you would like further information about our school, or would like to visit.

Kind regards
