PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

The Rongotai College Parents' Association is a voluntary group of interested parents who meet once a month to discuss and plan fundraising activities and events like the Ethnic Food Fair.

Over the past 20 years the Association has raised many thousands of dollars for projects that benefit the school and its students. These include providing lockers for the students to hire, outdoor education equipment, first aid courses for all prefects and a scholarship for a year 12 student. New chairs for the Renner Hall and display cabinets for the foyer have also been provided.

The Parents' Association is a valuable link between the College, the Board of Trustees and parents. The Association has a representative on the Board of Trustees, reporting on issues of interest to both groups.

New members and new ideas are always welcome. Meeting dates for 2012 are:  Wednesday 8 February, Wednesday 7 March, Wednesday 4 April, Wednesday 9 May, Wednesday 6 June, Wednesday 25 July, Wednesday 22 August, Wednesday 26 September, Wednesday 24 October, Wednesday 26 October and Wednesday 28 November.

The Ethnic Food Fair, which is a highlight of the year for the school community, will be held on Friday 2 November.
